This is the song Shining down by lupe fiasco, it is the first song off his new album titled lasers. This post isn’t about the album and all that good stuff it is about the actually song. Ok so this song is a collaboration with Mathew Santos and amazing singer who had and exceptional hook that keeps the song together, without this hook the song would lose a lot of the inperational zeal that make this a must have.

The musical skill in the song is amazing, it starts about with a fluctuating guitar part, the guitar something that really isn’t used in a rap song makes you go like, hey that is going on here, it pulls you in. With the singing and the guitar you have a the makings of a classic song. This beat isn’t that complex, the guitar comes down with a simple, 3 octave scale, and the occasional timed drum beat that hit with the guitar’s up point constantly.

The Artist that help Jay-z create this amazing album have a name of themselves. Artists like Kayne West who helped produced a lot of his songs. Although I personally dislike Kayne rapping or talking on any song, because his voice somehow just instantly ruins a track, I like the drums and different musical elements he adds to songs.

What jay-z does really well is that he adds a musical hook, what a lot of people say about rap its that ” it is just them talking there really isn’t any music to them.” Now we have plenty of music to tell them… ” yahhhhh… your wrong… ever heard.. THIS WHOLE ALBUM.  Obviously with the amount of sales it has produced the public clearly likes this album.

Here be a few JAMS!

Biggie Smalls… isn’t that a contradiction?

If you know anything about rap then you have probably heard the name Biggie Smalls also know as Notorious Big or Frank White. He is referred to by some as one of the greatest rappers if not the greatest rappers in the world. Although he has only had 2 albums and is no longer with us his music still effects the game today. He is known for a great deal of excellent songs. His style is usually recognized for his amazing ability to tell a story with his music, the raps that he comes up with personality and paint a picture in our heads about the street life. But he is also able to just talk about the times when the hard life hasn’t gotten in the way and he was able to just have fun. There are a great deal of songs that he has made that I really enjoy but the ones i will talk about are Notorious Thugs.  In Notorious Thugs he has particularly dark lyrics, he talks about tough he is and that we won’t let anyone stop me from going were he needs to go. As for the sound of the music, it is amazing . The song as a long start which builds the listeners need to hear it, just at the point were you want to change the song, Biggy comes in with his first verse, which is very different from what he does, he almost takes over the style of the bones and magnificent there ability.  Also the beat has a lot going on, but it doesn’t song busy, the up and down effect from the almost electric piano like sound keeps it changing and helps the flow of the Rappers bounce off the beat. The use of the snare also adds to the catchiness of the song. This song is effectively a high tempo, deep song with insane lyrics.

Welcome

Hey guys, its me Gomy G and basically what i’m planing to do here is write my thoughts on different songs, music artist, and the like. I’m not any professional with years studing music that knows what ever little key change is. If that is what you are looking for then I’m sorry you are in the wrong place. But if you are looking to hear what think and maybe be introduced to some new good music. Ok here is what i plan to do with this blog, i’m going to focus on hip-hop and rap because that is like the music that i personally enjoy that most, but i promise that if there is any other song that doesn’t fix into the catagory then i talk about and possible had some deversity into you music spectrum. So many say that music adds depth to life, i agree with this statement as it is obvious that without music some of our youth would go insane without a way to express themselves, i know i would. Well lets just have a little overview of what kind of music there is in the hip hop genre there is old school rap, which was like first rap and actually functioned commertionally no what i’m saying. It is generally filled simple rhymes and simple beats often dj mixs  of old songs.  then there is ganster rap which focued for more hard fast complex rhymes with images of inter-city life.  This style produced some of the most famous artist, once taht i’m sure i will be discussing about in the near future. From gangster rap we got Nas, Jay-z, Dr.Dre, 50 Cent, Enimem. Then there is the newly emirging Alternative Hip pop which focuses more one mixing soft hip-hop with a little bit of jazz, rock, and pop. Well for more exciting posts stay in contract and viste my site hella times and then you be learning about your musics.
